Benniman has completed the construction of a new high spec unit at an established industrial and logistics park in the East Midlands.

DC9 is a build-to-suit unit comprising 357,221 sq ft on a 22-acre site at Prologis Apex Park on the northern edge of Daventry in Northamptonshire.

The highly sustainable building is BREEAM ‘Excellent’, has an EPC A rating, and is certificated under the Plant Mark scheme and a Social Values Measurement.

It will be used as a main distribution hub by Hankook Tyre UK Ltd, a subsidiary of world-leading tyre manufacturer, Hankook Tire & Technology.

Benniman was awarded a £24.5 million contract to deliver the new unit on behalf of the UK’s leading developer of logistics property, Prologis.

The development was designed by Stephen George & Partners and took 35 weeks to complete.

Patrick Barrett, Construction Director at Benniman said: “We are very pleased to have completed another successful project for Prologis. DC9 is a state-of-the-art logistics development, which complements the available accommodation at Prologis Apex Park. We’ve built the new unit to a size and specification which is tailored to Hankook’s requirements, and meets the high sustainability expectations of our client.”

Benniman has delivered several construction projects on behalf of Prologis. They include a 480,000 sq ft scheme at Prologis Park, Ryton, a warehouse unit of 335,000 sq ft at Prologis Park, Wellingborough West and two units at Prologis Park, Kettering, totalling almost 340,000 sq ft.
