Benniman has announced it has been appointed for the first time by leading developer, owner and manager of logistics real estate, Logicor.

The contractor will deliver three new industrial/warehouse units totalling 800,000 sq ft at Logicor Park Daventry in the heart of the UK’s logistics Golden Triangle.

It is Logicor’s largest redevelopment in the UK.

The new units will range in size from 135,000 sq ft – 385,000 sq ft, and will target BREEAM Outstanding and an EPC A rating.

Facilities will include two on-site gyms, shower provision and cycle paths, which Logicor has commissioned to improve the health and wellbeing of those working at the site.

The buildings will house a range of environmental features, such as photovoltaic panels, electric vehicle charging points, LED lights and rainwater harvesting.

In addition, Benniman will plant more than 4,500 trees and saplings, as well as local species of plants, to boost biodiversity in and around Logicor Park Daventry. It will also work with local education providers to promote construction as a career choice, with the project receiving a social value measurement upon completion.

Managing director of Benniman, Steve Smith, said the contractor was looking forward to delivering its first project for Logicor. Benniman has already completed demolition of a redundant one million sq ft distribution centre on site – this included processing all demolition material which is being reused as part of the earthworks and infrastructure strategy.

He said: “Logicor has an outstanding reputation as an owner, manager and developer of logistics real estate and we’re incredibly pleased to be delivering our first project on its behalf. Logicor Park Daventry is an exciting industrial/warehouse scheme and we’ll be delivering three, modern warehouse units with impressive sustainability credentials.”
