Benniman has continued its support for a community initiative that helps older men and women in Worcestershire.

The main contractor and its supply chain partner, ETG Civil Engineering, has supported a Men in Sheds project in Evesham, which provides a safe space for people to get together, share and learn new skills.

The Evesham shed is situated on a small industrial area near the site of a new 101,000 sq ft unit that Benniman is constructing for tile flooring company, Karndean Designflooring.

Prolonged rainfall had made access to the shed problematic, with the surrounding area heavily waterlogged.

Benniman and ETG Civil Engineering have constructed a pathway from the roadside to the front of the building, meaning that the local Men in Sheds group can meet together – whatever the weather.

There are currently around 250 sheds nationwide and Benniman has pledged to support a shed for every project it delivers.

Andy McNair, Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Director at Benniman, said: “We are only too pleased to have supported Men in Sheds in Evesham. The group does a tremendous job of creating a welcoming environment for local people but the recent bad weather has made it more challenging for people to participate. Working with our supply chain partner, ETG Civil Engineering, has allowed us to deliver a simple solution but one that will hopefully benefit the group for years to come.”
