Benniman has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting a community initiative that is helping to tackle loneliness and isolation.

Men In Sheds supports older men and women to get together, share and learn new skills – all in the welcoming space of a shed.

There are currently around 250 sheds nationwide and Benniman has pledged to support a  shed for every project it delivers.

This year, Benniman has been working with the ‘shedders’ on a neighbouring business park in Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove. Benniman and its supply chain has assisted with maintenance to the unit and supplied materials which clients from the shed use to produce handmade bug hotels for construction sites.

One of its supply chain partners, Skerritt Electrical, also helped install a new emergency stop button to the Bromsgrove shed and fixed the power unit to the roller shutter door.

“Men In Sheds is a fantastic cause that provides a safe and welcoming environment for people in our communities, who want to remain active and make a contribution,” said Andy McNair, Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Director at Benniman.

“We are intent on helping Men In Sheds to remain open, so it can continue with its good work. We look forward to donating materials for use in its workshop, as well as purchasing bug hotels for use on our sites.”
