Benniman chosen for £10m low – carbon industrial/logistics project

Nursling Southampton

Benniman has been awarded a £10 million contract to construct a new low-carbon industrial/logistics unit near Southampton.

The 132,000 sq ft warehouse will be built on a six-acre site at Nursling Industrial Estate, on behalf of Graftongate and Bridges Fund Management.

It will target BREEAM Outstanding, EPC A+ and net zero carbon in operation, making it one of the UK’s most sustainable industrial/logistics buildings.

Construction is already underway on site, with the new unit programmed for completion in [insert].

It is the second recent Graftongate project to have been awarded to Benniman, and follows completion of a 36,381 sq ft purpose-built building in Warwickshire.

Tim Mills, Procurement Director at Benniman said: “We are excited to have been appointed to deliver this net zero carbon building for Graftongate and Bridges. Environmental sustainability is an increasingly important consideration for contractors, developers and occupiers alike, and we’re proud that Benniman has such a strong reputation for delivering construction projects to the highest sustainability standards.”
